The BCS inboard steering is the best answer to your needs of ‘CONTROL’ and ‘COMFORT’ at the same time. Built with no compromises of quality, BCS inboard steering is suitable for single and multiple inboard engines with either single or dual steering stations.
A standard steering system in its basic composition just counts major elements such as:
hydraulic helm pump(s) in case of additional control stations.
hydraulic cylinder(s)
rigid or flexible hoses
auto-pilot power unit
many types of valve or accessories
-
The working principle of the basic steering system is very simple:
- Turning the steering wheel in the direction desired sends an oil flow from the helm pump to the steering cylinder.
- This flow, which enters the cylinder, moves the piston, as well as the rod connected to the tiller arm, thus causing the rudder to rotate.
- Oil displaced from the opposite side of the cylinder flows back to the helm pump.
- To rotate the rudder in the opposite direction, simply turn the helm pump the other way.
-
The BCS helm pumps has a range of models in different displacements, as well as a variety of configurations and mounting options that allow the pump to be installed at various positions on the console.
