Effective Separation of Water & Oil

This seal is available in both Forward and Aft seal design. The SUPREME Standard Aft seal is equipped with three NBR lip seals: one oil repellant and two water repellant lip seals. The housing parts are made of bronze. The lip seals run on a chrome steel liner.

Effective Sealing Off The Oil

The SUPREME Standard Forward Seal is equipped with two NBR lip seals: both oil repellant. The housing parts are made of cast iron. The lip seals run on a chrome steel liner. The SUPREME STF comes in a cartridge design and is supplied with a 5 liter oil-tank.

Designed for Inland Shipping

The LD design is comparable with the SUPREME Standard design and is equipped with cast iron housing parts. The seal can be delivered in both oil and grease lubricated design. The standard SUPREME LD Aft Seal is equipped with three lip seals: two water repellant lip seals and one oil or grease repellant lip seal. The standard SUPREME LD Forward Seal is equipped with two oil or grease repellant lip seals.

Extra Security Against Leakage

This seal can only be supplied as an aft seal and is equipped with four lip seals. By filling the chamber between the third and fourth lip seal with oil from the L.O. tank, the pressure on both sides of the fourth lip seal is equal. The fourth lip seal functions as a ‘spare’ lip seal. If any leakage is noticed, the oil supply to this chamber can be shut down. This changes the pressure conditions, causing the fourth seal to function as a new oil repellant lip seal. Docking and maintenance can then be postponed.

Custom Design for Thrusters

The design of this seal is tailored to fit in small spaces. Every SUPREME TS is custom made to its specific application. SUPREME TS seals can, amongst others, be found in Propulsion, Retractable, Tunnel and Bow Thrusters. The TS(3) design is equipped with three lip seals. The chamber between the second and third lip seal is filled with oil. The barrier which is formed then effectively keeps the water outside and the oil inside the thruster gearbox. The SUPREME TS is also available in the heavy duty design TS4.
